A tweet from Darren Bent regarding Everton ace James Rodriguez has come back to bite the former England striker as less than a month after it was sent, the Colombia international put in another excellent display in the Premier League game against Graham Potter’s Brighton and Hove Albion.
Rodriguez scored two goals and made one assist as the Merseyside Club ran out 4-2 winners versus the Seagulls to maintain their 100% start in the top flight, with four wins out of four matches so far.

Not only did the 29-year old heavily contribute to the score line in the end, but he was also the standout performer according to Sofascore with a rather impressive 9.5 overall rating, the best score out of anyone on the pitch in the game.
Rodriguez also registered two successful dribbles, as well as posting a 94% pass accuracy stat and making two key passes in total, as per the website.
However, last month, Bent asked if the attacking midfield player was “Premier League proven” in a tweet replying to a fan’s question to him, and now he may be made to eat his words, with some EFC supporters even responding to his post after the Brighton win.
Calum is premier league proven , is Rodriguez?

Rodriguez has scored three goals and provided a further two assists in just the five games in England’s highest division in the 2020/21 term so far, and has also won a quite staggering 6.3 of his duels per match, in addition to creating four big chances and averaging 3.3 key passes, two successful dribbles and 1.8 shots a game (via Sofascore).
Whether the former Real Madrid man can maintain these kinds of stats throughout the rest of the season is another question, but Bent has certainly been made to look silly as of now!
