Some Everton fans have been blasting the display of Anthony Gordon in their FA Cup tie versus Rotherham United at Goodison Park.
Aside from his fine assist within the opening 10 minutes of the first half, from which Cenk Tosun greatly capitalised with a delicate chip to give the Merseyside club the lead, the England U21 international struggled to make much more of an impact in the game.
Should Ancelotti start Gordon more for Everton?
The 19 year-old even had fewer touches of the ball than his own goalkeeper in Robin Olsen, with just 22 in total, and lost possession six times off the back of some of those touches (Sofascore).
He also lost out on four of his duels in the match, and failed to record a single shot on target, cross or long ball (Sofascore).
Everton fan reaction to Gordon display
These Toffees supporters blasted his performance on Twitter, with one Blues fan even going as far to say as the winger was ‘anonymous’:
“Gordon will never make it at this level. Switches off far too much.”
“Gordon’s has a good 3 chances now and hasn’t took 1 since early in the season”
“Bar that first 9 mins Gordon been non-existent. Hope he is nowhere near the line up for the Prem.”
“Gordon, one pass apart was completely anonymous and ineffective”
“How was Gordon better than Iwobi, both bad today”
“Don’t anybody tell me Anthony Gordon should be near that team neither”
