Many Everton fans were left delighted by the news that the Goodison Park faithful condemned the idea of the European Super League (ESL).

The league has since collapsed following the withdrawal of the six English clubs who were originally going to play in it, but the Merseyside club made their feelings known from the start.

As per the official website of the Toffees, they were both 'saddened' and 'disappointed' by the proposals of the breakaway league which was pushed forward by Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Blues went on to vent their anger and frustration at the idea, which gained a lot of support not just from EFC supporters, but fans all across the country.
