Many Everton fans have been left to fume at some early news ahead of their home game versus Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
As per a tweet from the Liverpool Echo journalist Phil Kirkbride, Jon Moss is set to referee the game while Martin Atkinson will be on VAR duty at Stockley Park.
Officials have been under the spotlight more often than not so far in the 2020/21 term, with controversial decisions seemingly being given week after week at the moment.
Moss was accused of overlooking an offside in the process of overturning a penalty a few weeks ago by former Premier League ref Dermot Gallagher, while top-flight legend, now pundit, Graeme Souness described Atkinson as a 'very, very poor referee' back in February after failing to give what in his eyes looked like both a penalty and a red card for a challenge made by Alphonse Areola on Jayden Bogle.
Nonetheless, the appointments of both men have left several members of the Merseyside club faithful worried that incidents such as these will happen at Goodison Park and go against them.
