Many Everton fans have been left to laud an injury update given by Abdoulaye Doucoure before they play Brighton and Hove Albion away on Monday night.

Writing on his official Twitter page, the former Watford ace has revealed that his rehabilitation is going 'very well' and added that he is 'confident' that he can play again before the end of the 2020/21 term.

Doucoure has missed the Goodison Park faithful's last four games in total over all competitions, in where the Merseyside club have been knocked out of the FA Cup to Manchester City and have picked up just one point from their last three matches in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).

Nonetheless, the central midfield player is clearly very important to Carlo Ancelotti's team, and so it has come as a much welcome relief that he should be back before the end of the season.
