Many Everton fans have been left venting at Alex Iwobi after his uncle Jay-Jay Okocha spoke to Goal about his move from Arsenal to the Goodison Park faithful.

Speaking to the news outlet, the footballing legend said: "The move from Arsenal to Everton wasn’t an easy one. He wasn’t expecting it, it just happened. He got a call that there’s a deal for him and that he must oblige that deal. I think that must have taken him 12 months to get over."

A lot was expected of Iwobi at the Merseyside club given that he cost £27.36m to sign him from the Gunners, but he has never really been able to live up to his inflated price tag.

The 24-year-old has only managed to score a mere two goals and make a further two assists in 50 games in total in the Premier League for the Toffees over the last two consecutive terms (Transfermarkt), which is simply not a good enough return for an attacking player.

Currently earning £50,000 per week at the Blues, the winger has been a total waste of money so far despite the occasional good performance.
