Loads of Everton fans have been blasting Alex Iwobi as he is named in the starting line-up by Carlo Ancelotti ahead of their clash vs Fulham, even branding the manager’s decision to start the midfielder as ‘pathetic’.
As per the official Twitter page of the Goodison Park faithful, the Nigeria international will start with Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure in midfield behind the forward trio of James Rodriguez, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison.
Should Everton cut their losses on Iwobi?
Ben Godfrey, Yerry Mina, Michael Keane and Lucas Digne will make up the back four ahead of Jordan Pickford in between the posts.
Making up the bench are Robin Olsen, Mason Holgate, Tom Davies, Andre Gomes, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Bernard and Cenk Tosun.
He has not exactly had the best of starts to the 2020/21 term so far for the Merseyside club, with no goals and just one assist in his seven previous games in the top flight (Transfermarkt).
Everton fan reaction to Iwobi starting
These EFC supporters blasted the fact that Iwobi was named in the starting 11 by Ancelotti on Twitter, with one Toffee even claiming that the 24 year-old winger is a ‘waste of space’:
For the love of my life how does iwobi start over Bernard ?

Iwobi again. Such a waste of space. Offers absolutely nothing. Just as well start with 10 he’s that bad!!!

Does Iwobi have something incriminating on Ancelotti?
— Steve Mc (@LeedsViking) November 22, 2020
