Lots of Everton fans have been slamming some comments made by David Unsworth as he spoke to evertontv about his ambitions for the Academy.
The boss for the Under 23’s team said that he wants the Academy of the Goodison Park faithful to be “the best Academy in the world” and added that he wants to get to that target “quickly”.

Unsworth’s target is very ambitious to say the least, given that only Jonjoe Kenny, Tom Davies, Anthony Gordon and Ellis Simms have been named in the first team squad by the Merseyside club in the 2020/21 season having come directly from the Academy, with only 14 senior games played between the four of them so far this term.
Given the lack of progress from the Academy into the senior side, several EFC supporters have taken his comments pretty lightly.
