Some Everton fans were left slamming the display of Mason Holgate despite their 2-1 win over Leeds United in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
Two goals in the first half from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin put the Goodison Park faithful on the road to victory, although Raphinha did grab a goal for the hosts very early on in the second half, which led to some immense pressure on the Toffees defence late on.

Although there were some good showings by the Merseyside club, the performance of Holgate flattered to deceive some Toffees fans.
The 24-year-old lost out on five of his duels and also failed to complete a single dribble from the right-back position (Sofascore), leading to the worst match rating of any Everton starter (6.4).

He also failed to register a single key pass or accurate cross in the game, and lost possession of the ball no fewer than 18 times, the third most out of any of his teammates to have set foot on the pitch (Sofascore).
Everton fan reaction to Holgate display
These Blues slammed his performance on Twitter, with a couple of EFC supporters even going as far as to call the Englishman their ‘weak link’:
“Holgate is the weak link at the back, he’s too busy strutting about acting hard and posing for the cameras, he’s not half as good as he thinks he is.”
