In a surprising story, Manchester United have been linked with a move for Everton’s Marcel Brands as they look for a new director of football.

The Dutchman made the move to the Toffees in May of 2018, and he has been very busy in the transfer market since then. All in all, the club have spent over £250m on a whole host of players, and the results have been mixed. The likes of Richarlison, Lucas Digne and, although it is early days, James Rodriguez, have been hugely popular new arrivals. However, Moise Kean struggled at Goodison Park and is already on loan at PSG after just one full campaign with Everton, and Yerry Mina’s displays continue to disappoint the supporters.

It seems that the Red Devils, though, are not too bothered about the misses and absolutely love the hits, as they want to take him to Old Trafford. If he were to go to Manchester, he would be following in the footsteps of David Moyes, Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney.
The speculation has attracted plenty of reaction from the Toffees supporters, and they have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts.
Let’s see what they had to say about Brands below

He’s out of contract and I have a feeling Moshiri doesn’t want him. Can you really blame him if that was the case? Personally I’d like to see Brands stay and succeed but I think patience may have ran out

It wouldn’t be catastrophic, but we’d be worse off without him. His negotiations have brought down a number of transfer fees for us.

Marcel Brands lined up for new DoF role #MUFC. Not bothered. He was woeful in the role until this summer when Ancelotti put his foot down & dictated who we signed. Even more hilarious is the rumour that Steve Walsh is also a candidate for the role. 😂🤣😂🤣#EFC. #FULEVE pic.twitter.com/fSLoHSbVJY

If it’s not our players or manager it’s our DOF

In other news, this man was Carlo Ancelotti’s ‘tiger’ against Fulham.
