Many Everton fans have been slamming the performance of Fabian Delph in their game at Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

The midfielder was given a start by Rafael Benitez but failed to take his chance, as he was hauled off just short of the hour mark for Anthony Gordon.

The 32-year-old had particular problems trying to contain Conor Gallagher, who ran off him for the opening goal, and ended up losing the midfield battle.

Delph lost out on four of his individual duels in total and failed to block any shots or make any key passes in the match, losing possession of the ball four times (SofaScore).

With the likes of Gordon on the bench as well as Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Alex Iwobi, the former Aston Villa man may now find his place in the starting XI at risk following this ineffective display.
