U23s manager David Unsworth hailed his ‘fantastic finishing ability‘ after the match, as that strike was one of two that he scored on the night.

Given that the Merseyside club are due to play Hull City in the FA Cup this weekend, Mills may have grabbed the attention of Rafa Benitez with his goals, especially the one he put in the top corner, and so the 18-year-old Englishman could perhaps now get an opportunity to shine with the first team off the back of it.
