Many Everton fans have been left reacting to some news that has emerged on Tyler Onyango.

As per The Athletic journalist Patrick Boyland, the youngster was close to making Rafa Benitez's squad for their 5-2 loss to Watford at Goodison Park last weekend, following Abdoulaye Doucoure's absence.

Onyango has apparently impressed behind the scenes since returning from injury, and is even seen by some as the 'natural successor' to Doucoure.

Of course, those are big boots to fill for an 18-year-old, but Onyango has already made his Transfermarkt).

Nonetheless, with such a thin squad already and a few midfield players injured at the moment (Transfermarkt), perhaps Onyango may get his chance to impress away at Wolves in the Premier League on Monday night.
