Lots of Everton fans have been lauding Ben Godfrey as Sky Sports have reported that he has passed his medical ahead of his move from Norwich City.
According to the outlet, the transfer fee is going to be an initial £25 million that may rise to as much as £30 million with various add-ons and bonuses.
Despite the relegation of the Canaries to England’s second division at the end of the 2019/20 season, the 22-year old actually averaged more clearances, blocks and passes than Mason Holgate, Michael Keane and Yerry Mina in the Premier League, as per Whoscored, showing that he is capable of slotting straight into the side under Carlo Ancelotti.
Should Godfrey start for Everton?
Members of the Goodison Park faithful lauded Godfrey on Twitter as they perhaps feel that he can give some adequate cover to the likes of Holgate, Keane and Mina in the heart of the Toffees defence. One fan said the youngster “looks like a machine” while another praised the “serious” competition now present in the squad…

Miserable day today but if Everton can return to the top of the league and announce Ben Godfrey it'll be a good one!

He was never not going to pass, the lad looks like a machine. Have you seen the clips of him boxing in training? 👍💪
