According to a report by Spanish outlet Todofichajes.com, Carlo Ancelotti is eyeing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot and has ‘put his name on the table‘ – with the club apparently having already had ‘several‘ contacts with the Serie A giants over these last few weeks.
Indeed, the Frenchman was apparently close to signing at Goodison Park last summer but the lack of an agreement with Juve prompted his transfer to fall through.
Ancelotti eyeing Rabiot for Everton
Now, in this update, Everton and Ancelotti still hold an interest and could opt to try and bring Rabiot to Merseyside after all – but his change of situation under Andrea Pirlo may complicate matters somewhat.
Ancelotti, as per this report, appears eager to sign Rabiot and has personally put forward his name – but whether or not the club are able to complete a deal in the summer remains to be seen.
Transfer Tavern take
The 25-year-old, described as a ‘complete player’ by Pirlo due to his form over 2020/2021 (Sky Sports via Goal), has been heavily linked with the Toffees and could be an ideal presence in midfield.
Averaging a 91.4% pass accuracy in 12 Serie A starts (WhoScored), Rabiot appears to possess that degree of composure which could help Everton in the Premier League.
It will be interesting to see whether talks become more advanced or reports heat up ahead of the summer window.
