Spence has not looked back since, as he was rewarded with a new long-term deal at the EFL Championship club, but now several teams in the Premier League, including the Goodison Park faithful, are doing regular checks on him.

Warnock full of praise for Spence

Indeed, his coach Neil Warnock was full of praise for Spence back in July, claiming that the right-back has ‘enormous potential’.

Spence was great in the Championship last season, as he won an average of 3.5 duels per game and also averaged a rather impressive 1.3 clearances and 1.2 tackles per match (Sofascore).

The Englishman has also been heavily involved in Middlesbrough’s success in the division in this campaign, making eight appearances in total as Warnock’s team are currently in fifth place in the table on 16 points, six points away from the top spot in the league (BBC).

Should Everton sign Spence?

Indeed, with Seamus Coleman not getting any younger, and question marks over the future of Jonjoe Kenny after the Merseyside club reportedly tried to sell the 23-year old on a permanent deal in the summer transfer window, it makes sense for them to be linked with alternatives.

Thus, it may be an idea for Carlo Ancelotti’s side to try and fend off the competition for his services and attempt to sign him in January.
