Many Everton fans have been left hailing the reported transfer bid that their club have made for Granada goalkeeper Rui Silva.
As per IDEAL journalist Rafael Lamelas, the Goodison Park faithful have made an official bid to sign him on a free transfer at the end of the 2020/21 term.
Should Everton sign Silva?
The Portugal U21 international would be looking to challenge current number one at the Merseyside Jordan Pickford in between the posts, with it not yet being clear as to whether Carlo Ancelotti’s team will sign Robin Olsen on a permanent deal after his loan spell from AS Roma ends.
Silva has kept a relatively impressive nine clean sheets in 22 games in all competitions so far for the Spanish side, including in the UEFA Europa League, in where he only conceded a mere three goals in the group stages (Transfermarkt).
Everton fan reaction to Silva bid
These Blues supporters hailed the bid for the 26 year-old on Twitter, with one Toffee even describing him as a ‘diamond’:
“Decent shot stopper. Brave and all with some of his saves at feet and around his box. Bit mad given the Olsen embargo from last night.”
“Hope this is true… @ToffeeTVEFC @ToffeeTargets @CBobblers1878″
“Great goalie and really young and exciting prospect”
“Granada keeper, basically the reason they got Europe last season 15 clean sheets in 35 games would be a good option, 26 years old as well”
“Could be a diamond in the rough”
“I think he’s very good. Been at Granada a few years and he’s one of the reasons for their current performances/achievements. On a free it’s a no brainer for me”
