Many Everton fans have been left lauding a transfer update from Alan Myers on the future of Anthony Gordon at the Goodison Park faithful.
As per a tweet from the sports news editor, the 19-year-old is the subject of interest from a number of different clubs in the EFL Championship, including Preston North End, to take him on loan for the rest of the 2020/21 term.
Should Ancelotti start Gordon more for Everton?
It would be a move that would suit all parties involved, as the English prospect can further his development by getting more regular game time and hopefully come back to the Merseyside club and fight for his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
Gordon has only played in a mere eight matches in all competitions for the Toffees so far this season (Transfermarkt), and so a loan move away from the Blues would allow him to play more regular first-team football.
Everton fan reaction to Gordon update
These EFC supporters lauded the update on Twitter as they feel as if Gordon needs to go out on loan:
“Exactly what he needs! He said himself he needs to work on his defensive aspect of his game, which a run of games would definitely do that! Hope it happens”
“Think this would be a smart move!”
“Please send Tony Gordon out on loan so he’s gets some actual game time”
“Yes, please let him go, he needs it.”
“A loan spell would do Anthony a world of good. The lad needs to play a lot more than what he is doing at the moment.”
“Best thing for him, he needs to gain experience.”
