Everton: Fans react to transfer news on Manchester United ace Sergio Romero

Loads of Everton fans have been reacting to a transfer revelation involving Manchester United ace Sergio Romero.
According to The Athletic, the Argentina international was close to a loan move to the Merseyside club on transfer deadline day.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team apparently held out for a transfer fee of £8 million instead, and a deal never materialised.
The Toffees reportedly offered to cover the 33-year old’s entire £100,000-a-week wages and include an extra £2 million loan fee, but Romero was not allowed to leave the Red Devils on a temporary basis.
Indeed, the goalkeeper may well have been a good addition to Carlo Ancelotti’s side, as he kept a rather impressive 12 clean sheets in just 17 games for the Old Trafford faithful in all competitions in the 2019/20 season, coupled with the concession of only five goals, as per Transfermarkt.
Everton fan reaction to Romero revelation
These members of the Goodison Park faithful on Twitter would have liked to see Romero move to the Blues, as he may have provided some decent competition for Jordan Pickford with his clean-sheet record:
If we wanted him that much should of just paid the extra 6 mill and got it done

Ok but why didn’t we just pay 8m, he’s worth it

He’d have been an absolute cracking signing – such a shame. He’d have kept Pickford on his toes, not sure this one we got will. But we must have faith in Carlo (and Jordan)!

That’s a real shame for both us and Sergio Romero. The lad would have been genuine competition for Jordan Pickford’s spot.
