Some Everton fans have bemoaned a transfer update on Robin Olsen as the Liverpool Echo (via The Toffee Blues) have reported that he wants to stay at the club.

According to the report, the Goodison Park outfit are also happy for the Sweden international to remain on Merseyside after his loan spell from AS Roma ends, despite some rumours suggesting that he wanted to return to the Serie A side.

This news has not pleased some Toffees supporters, given that the Sweden international has barely even played for Everton so far, making just nine appearances in total across all competitions. Those games have seen him ship 15 goals and keep just two clean sheets (Transfermarkt).

At 31 years of age, coupled with the recent emergence of Joao Virginia, maybe it is not the wisest idea by Carlo Ancelotti and co to keep him at the end of his loan spell.

"Do we need to keep Olsen? Virginia looked good ngl and probably is a lot cheaper than Olsen"

"Disappointing unless Pickford is going, which we all know he’s probably not. Olsen wouldn’t stay to be third choice so if he is staying we can say goodbye to getting a proper keeper this summer"

"Decent backup but I don't think he's good enough."
