Some Everton fans have expressed their desire for the Goodison Park faithful to sign Robin Olsen on a permanent deal from AS Roma.
As per Tuttomercatoweb, the Merseyside club would like to present an offer to buy the Sweden international outright in the January transfer window following his loan spell with Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
Should Olsen start for Everton?
It would be a deal that could make sense given that the Serie A club are reportedly looking to bring in some new additions next month, and the selling of Olsen could accumulate some cash to fund these deals.
The Toffees also need a goalkeeper to challenge Jordan Pickford in between the sticks, and the 30-year-old may well fit the bill for them as well.
Still, a deal will have to be struck between the two clubs in order for a permanent move to happen, but it seems as if the Blues are willing to make it happen.
Everton fan reaction to Olsen news
These EFC supporters expressed their desire for Olsen to sign on a permanent deal on Twitter, with one fan even describing him as a ‘man mountain’:
“The mistakes he made against UTD, if they were Pickford he’d have been slaughtered. BUT the games before, he was safe as houses. Putting UTD down to home debut nerves. Signing is a no brainer. Perfect back up.”
“He’s the perfect back up keeper for us”
“He certainly has upped Pickford’s game a bit. Man mountain and good understudy. Need to offload Lossl though”
“He has put in some solid performances since he arrived. Good signing IMO”
“Sign him up. If we do move on from Pickford, Olsen can hold that place well enough until we sell & replace Jordan.”
“Big fan of his to be honest. Get him signed up”
