Neil Warnock has commented on Middlesbrough’s reported interest in signing Yannick Bolasie from Everton before the window shuts at 5pm.
Speaking to the media (via The Northern Echo), the ‘Boro manager said:
“What would he bring? Frustration! One minute he’s unbelievable, the next you’re asking, ‘Is he a footballer?’
“He’s a good lad and I’ve always liked him – but whether it comes off, we’ll see.”
Bolasie has been ‘unbelievable’ at times
Indeed, Bolasie has shown in English football that he can be ‘unbelievable’ at times. The 31-year old tweeted recently about being given a standing ovation at Anfield while playing for Crystal Palace.
Where will Everton finish in the Premier League?
7th - 10th
He also managed to bag an impressive hat-trick away from home against Sunderland in the Premier League back in 2014/15.
Bolasie move would suit all parties
Indeed, a move away from the Goodison Park faithful, whether on loan or in a permanent transfer, would arguably suit all parties involved in a possible deal for Bolasie, who needs game-time as has not played for the Toffees since 2018.
The DR Congo international has also only managed to score two goals and provide just four assists in 32 matches over all competitions for the Blues, according to Transfermarkt.
Bolasie is currently earning £75,000 per week, or £3.9m annually, as per Salary Sport, and so it may be an idea for Everton to try and get as much of those wages as possible off their books while he is not playing at Goodison Park.
Nonetheless, time is ticking to get this deal done before the domestic window officially shuts at 5pm.
