Everton are reportedly interested in signing Granit Xhaka from Arsenal, according to London Sources on Twitter.

Off of the back of a 2-1 home loss at the hands of Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday evening, it seems as if Carlo Ancelotti is interested in adding to his current midfield options at Goodison Park.

Everton should sign Xhaka

Even though Xhaka has been prone to an error or two, most recently in the goal that Chris Wood ended up scoring for Burnley at Turf Moor in a recent 1-1 draw for the Gunners, there is no doubt that his other qualities on the ball outweighs such lapses.

The Switzerland international has generally been enjoying a fine resurgence of form under Mikel Arteta since the turn of the new year, with the Spaniard even going as far as to say that the midfielder was 'phenomenal' in some of his displays back in January.

That shows in some of his statistics so far in this season's Premier League, in where the 28-year-old has won no fewer than 4.4 of his duels per game and has also averaged more clearances, long balls and passes with a greater accuracy than Abdoulaye Doucoure, Allan and Andre Gomes (Whoscored).

Xhaka is certainly a player that the Merseyside club should not be quick to overlook.
