Everton are reportedly keeping tabs on Max Aarons, with the Daily Mail claiming that he is a player of interest to the Goodison Park faithful.
However, as per the news outlet, the Merseyside club are still yet to make any form of contact with Norwich City to sign the England U21 international.
Would Aarons start for Everton?
Bayern Munich are one of the frontrunners for his signature with FC Barcelona and Manchester United also monitoring his developments, with his current deal at the Canaries set to run out in 2024.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men are seemingly making plans to add a right-back to succeed Seamus Coleman as Jonjoe Kenny, who is currently on loan at Celtic, is likely to move on again when the summer transfer window opens
Norwich value Aarons at over £30m and will not stand in his way of a step up to a Premier League side like the Toffees if a suitable offer is made.
Aarons would be a great signing for Everton
At 21 years of age, Aarons still has the world at his feet, and if the Blues were able to capture him ahead of the likes of Bayern, Barca and United, it would be quite the coup.
The Mail relayed some comments made by Norwich joint majority shareholder Delia Smith at the FT Business of Football summit, to which she claimed that he is ‘one of the best’ and ‘going to be one of the top footballers’, which is very high praise.
If EFC can pull a deal off, Aarons’ promise and potential could make him one of the signings of the summer.
