According to German journalist Christian Falk, Everton are interested in signing Freiburg defender Keven Schlotterbeck.
Toffees eye Schlotterbeck
Schlotterbeck currently plays in the Bundesliga with Freiburg and has made 13 appearances in the German top flight so far this campaign (Transfermarkt).

It seems that the Goodison Park outfit are eager to add to their defensive options, with the 23-year-old a potential option as a new arrival.
Solid
Schlotterbeck’s experience in the professional game remains limited – this is just his second full campaign at Bundesliga level.
His impact on the side has been clear for all to see, though. Freiburg have won just one of the seven games he has missed in the league.

With 5.2 clearances per game this term, he leads the way amongst his teammates, while he has also completed two interceptions per match (WhoScored).
Valued at £6.75m (Transfermarkt) the 6 foot 2 defender would probably not be an expensive option. Carlo Ancelotti already has Mason Holgate, Ben Godfrey, Yerry Mina and Michael Keane at his disposal in terms of centre-backs, so one of those options would likely need to move on to make space for the German.
With plenty of time left to develop, however, Schlotterbeck could be an interesting signing for the Merseyside outfit and Marcel Brands to pursue.
In other news, Everton fans react to an injury update on this midfielder.
