Everton are reportedly fighting Liverpool as well as many other clubs to sign Samu Chukwueze, according to La Razon.
As per the news outlet, Wolves, Manchester United, Chelsea and Leicester City are also willing to bid for the Villarreal star, in addition to Real Madrid.
Would Chukwueze be a good signing for Everton?
However, he has a release clause of €80m (£71.3m), which may well be considered as quite a sizeable transfer fee for the Goodison Park faithful.
Nonetheless, he could be quite the coup for the Merseyside club given the size of competition that they may face for his signature.
Chukwueze has received high plaudits
Indeed, Chukwueze has received plenty of plaudits already despite only being 21 years of age. FC Barcelona legend and former Blues ace Samuel Eto’o has branded him as an ‘incredible’ player while West Brom and Nigeria star Semi Ajayi described him as a ‘wonderkid’ when they were both training with the Super Eagles on international duty earlier this year.
It is no surprise to see interest in the player, given that he has helped Unai Emery’s team climb up to third in the La Liga table on 19 points, ahead of both Madrid and Barca.
The winger has won a pretty impressive 3.6 of his duels per game in the Spanish top flight and has also averaged 1.2 key passes and 1.1 successful dribbles a game so far in the 2020/21 term (Sofascore).
Given his profile and output in the early stages of his career, it could be a very smart move by Carlo Ancelotti to bring Chukwueze to Goodison Park, if the finances work for The Blues.
