Gary Lineker has had a truly wonderful career as a professional football player but he was also the kind of player who didn’t really stick to defending a single crest, instead opting to play for various different teams.
He spent time at Leicester City, Everton, Barcelona, Tottenham and also had a brief spell over in Japan before hanging up his boots and calling it a day.
And just recently, after watching the Everton, Howard’s way movie, which he seemed to love, he also revealed the Toffees of the 1985/86 season were the best team he’s ever played for in his career.
Finally got to see @HowardsWayFilm and it’s wonderful. Such a bunch of brilliant and fantastic people and characters, superbly managed by Howard Kendall. So glad I played with most of them. So glad I played for @Everton even if it was just a season. Best team I ever played for. pic.twitter.com/B0GmH0qCbI

Of course, he only played there for a single season but that was seemingly enough to leave a lifetime mark on the now-retired forward who still cherishes those moments even after so many years.
The now 59-year-old English striker played a total of 35 games for the Toffees, banging in 30 goals and recording one assist under his belt in the process as well.
