Everton are thought to be keen on using the January transfer window to bring a striker to the club to help them add firepower.
The Toffees have had to rely on the likes of Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson to find the back of the net, with the Iceland international scoring the only goal of the game in this past weekend’s win against Cardiff City.
One name that has been heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park recently in the foreign press is Gabriel Barbosa, and it appears things may be about to start stepping up.
Marco Silva has made it clear that he wants the Brazilian to lead the line and it is understood that negotiations are already underway to bring the 22-year-old to the Premier League.
However, it is believed the Italians want a fee of around €30million which could be a hindrance, although the two clubs could come to an agreement of a loan deal for the remainder of the season.
The Verdict:

Although Barbosa has struggled in Europe, the forward looks to have rediscovered his form whilst out on loan in his homeland with Santos.
The Brazil international is the top goalscorer in his country’s top-flight and has recorded 18 goals, something that Everton would certainly welcome at Goodison Park.
It remains to be seen if a move for ‘Gabigol’ happens and on what terms, however, with media outlets from different countries picking up on the story, a switch may just become a reality for the 22-year-old.
