Everton fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are buzzing after The Mirror revealed that they are leading the race to sign Barcelona youngster Adama Traore on loan after Barcelona decided to allow him first team experience elsewhere
The Toffees have a good chance of signing the 18-year-old as it thought that Barcelona were impressed with how Gerard Deulofeu developed under Roberto Martinez at Goodison Park in 2013/14.
Traore is seen as one Barcelona’s hottest prospects having come through their world class La Masia youth set up and they are hopeful that a stint in the Premier League will help improve and strengthen him as a player.
It is also possible his arrival in January could bring solidarity and consistency to Everton who have been up and down this season, currently sitting in 11th place.
Some performances this season have been described as stale and maybe an injection of youth from the Catalan giants may be exactly what they need.
Their previous loan star Deulofeu managed to score four goals, including his unforgettable goal against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
