According to a report from Italian outlet Il Mattino.it courtesy of Sport Witness, Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has apparently asked club officials to swoop for Napoli midfielder Allan – but the player’s €80m (£67.7m) valuation makes the deal highly unlikely, with these Toffees supporters hardly surprised.
Allan, who has started 14 games for Ancelotti’s former side this season in Serie A, has been a crucial player for Napoli since putting pen to paper on a transfer switch from Udinese in 2015 – going on to rack up 10 goals and 16 assists in 199 overall appearances from midfield (Transfermarkt).
The Brazilian has amassed an impressive 88% accuracy this season, as per SofaScore – with that potentially being the reason why the Toffees boss is so keen on bringing him to Goodison Park. By comparison, fellow midfielder Fabian Delph has averaged a lesser rate (86.1%) in the league while Tom Davies doesn’t fair much better – accumulating a meagre 77.2%, as per WhoScored.com.
However, despite his evident composure on the ball, Toffees supporters agree with the potential verdict from club officials that Allan’s large price tag doesn’t warrant the risk. One fan, though, cheekily made the suggestion they swap out of favour striker Oumar Niasse for the player – who has been linked with a move away from Merseyside all January (Liverpool Echo).
