Everton face Norwich on Wednesday in their second match since the return of the Premier League.
The Toffees kicked off their post-pandemic schedule with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against their fierce city rivals Liverpool. Whilst the match itself may have not been the best, Carlo Ancelotti will be hoping that the boost from picking up a point against the champions elect can help his side dispatch the Canaries, who sit bottom of the table, with ease.

“Although it wasn’t a particularly exciting fixture, the Blues did well not to crumble against runaway leaders Liverpool in Sunday’s derby. With Norwich rooted to the bottom of the table and a recent 3-0 thrashing on the brain, it’s hard to see anything but an Everton win. Carlo Ancelotti’s side will want to make sure they qualify for Europe next season and will be hungry for a win this evening. With Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin posing serious threats, it could be another embarrassing day for the Canaries. But they may sneak in a consolation goal if they capitalise on Everton’s inconsistent defence. Norwich 1-3 Everton.”

“Norwich looked like a team resigned to their fate in their thrashing by Southampton last week, even though just one win puts them within reach of the teams ahead of them. Everton belatedly had a go at Liverpool in a drab Merseyside derby and, with a bit more ambition, could punish a Canaries team bereft of confidence. Don’t expect this to be a classic. Norwich 0-1 Everton.

“Everton played well against Liverpool, and arguably should have nicked a win with their chances. On the other hand, Norwich really struggled at home against Southampton and their relegation looks inevitable. However, the Premier League is all about surprises. I can see the Canaries coming up with a spirited display and thus perhaps cause an upset, as the Toffees do not have much to play for. Norwich 2-1 Everton.”

“The Toffees should be feeling confident going into this match. The clash against the Reds was far from exhilarating, but Everton proved difficult for the champions elect to break down, and could have easily picked up all three points themselves had they taken one of their good chances at the other end. Norwich, meanwhile, were lacklustre from the off against Southampton, and they played as if they were still in lockdown. If both sides put in similar performances to their previous ones, there is only going to be one winner, and whilst Carlo Ancelotti’s side will not be as naturally up for it, they should have far too much for their opponents at Carrow Road. Norwich 0-2 Everton.”
