The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are on red alert over some of their key players potentially leaving the club in the summer transfer window and are certainly fearing the worst at the moment.
Of course after a decent season for a side outside the top six, it is inevitable that the interest in certain key players heighten and Ronald Koeman will be looking to ensure most of his squad is still at the club by the start of next season though this is looking easier said than done.
Our landlord totally agrees with this perspective and he has commented how Koeman may be looking to just tweak his club this summer. He is claiming that the Dutchman may be looking to tweak his back line with Seamus Coleman having to recover from his horrific broken leg and a cloud over Phil Jagielka’s future. One thing is for sure, the Toffees enjoying an early summer drink in the Tavern are discussing which new defenders may come through the doors at Goodison Park.
Whilst a few names have been thrown around, our landlord has been able to narrow down to the most popular defenders his resident Evertonians feel should be axed and should be signed by their club.
Let’s take a look at what he has come up with…
Aymen Abdennour

Our resident Toffees think that boss, Ronald Koeman may go for Abdennour in this summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old centre back will bring a wealth of experience having playing his football at Spanish side, Valencia as well as earning 40 caps for Tunisia at national level.
Previously, Abennour played his football at Monaco but his age means Everton could well get their man for the peak of his career should the move go ahead.
Jordan Amavi

With Leighton Baines not getting any younger and the apparent lack of cover in the left back position, our landlord believes it would be wise for Koeman to snap up Aston Villa’s Jordan Amavi sooner rather than later.
Amavi is a very talented player, though, and the Toffees in the Tavern agree that it would be better to sign Amavi sooner rather than later as he seems to be the best option to replace Baines in the long run.
