Stephen Warnock has dropped an Everton transfer claim on Diego Costa as Deadline Day ticks ever closer to ending.
Speaking on Sky Sports News (1/2/21, 12:55), the former Liverpool, Aston Villa and Leeds United defender was discussing where the former Chelsea ace’s next move could be after reports emerged that the free agent could be on the move back to England.
Warnock claimed that Costa ‘would be a really good signing for Everton’, given that the Toffees are in need of a deputy to support Dominic Calvert-Lewin and have already been linked with strikers today.

Costa could well be a very good signing for the Goodison Park faithful as Warnock claims, especially given the fact that he is currently a free agent and therefore would not cost the Merseyside club a single penny in transfer fees.

His wage demands may be an issue for Carlo Ancelotti’s team, but the 32-year-old could certainly give some decent cover to Calvert-Lewin up top.
Costa has been a goal threat for both club and country all throughout his senior footballing career, scoring no fewer than 191 times combined in total from 500 games in all competitions (Transfermarkt).

With his added experience of playing in the Premier League as well, he would not need to adapt to the English top flight, and so the Toffees should look to try and strike a deal for the Spain international if possible before Deadline Day comes to an end.
