Everton to keep close eye on Thomas Meunier

Things are not going as well as Everton and Marco Silva would have wanted this season when it comes down to results on the pitch.

The Toffees have struggled to pick up victories and were beaten once again at the weekend when they visited Watford at Vicarage Road.

The pressure is certainly starting to pile on the shoulders of Silva, with questions about his future starting to be asked more often.

However, it appears Marcel Brands is already lining up his next possible transfer target in the summer.

According to a report by Le10sport, Paris Saint-Germain’s Thomas Meunier has emerged as a player on Everton’s radar and they plan to keep a close eye on developments.

The Belgium international, who is valued at £31.5million by Transfermarkt, is finding life difficult at the Parc des Princes this season, despite being considered one of the best right-backs.

The 27-year-old is having to battle it out with Daniel Alves and Thilo Kehrer as he does not appear to be a part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans for the future – with suggestions that he will be allowed to leave in the summer.

The Verdict:

Meunier would be an excellent addition for The Toffees and could be another brilliant piece of business undertaking by Brands at the club.

The right-back area has become a bit of a problem for Everton this season, as Seamus Coleman does not look to be up to pace with the Premier League anymore.

Brands brought in the likes of Yerry Mina, Kurt Zouma, Andre Gomes, Bernard, Lucas Digne and Richarlison this summer and if Meunier joins them and plays as well as the aforementioned names, Everton could have another coup on their hands.
