Our Derby fans here in the Transfer Tavern haven’t had much to cheer about this season but they are certainly happy about their latest bit of news.
Indeed, after Steve McClaren’s second sacking from the club, many Rams fans had had enough of this season but they’ve been turned around with the appointment of Gary Rowett.
The former Birmingham City manager has been highly-soughtafter since his inexplicable sacking from St. Andrew’s and so, naturally, the men from the iPro Stadium are delighted he’s gone for them.
He’s been speaking to the media for the first time today, too, and Rams fans should be hugely excited by what he has had to say with him coming across as very determined.
As quoted by the club’s official Twitter account he said:
Rowett: “I want to get a team out on the pitch that represents the values of #DCFC. I want to see us playing with desire, passion & fight.”

Certainly, the lack of passion and not representing the club’s values was part of the reason McClaren went and so Rowett already appears to be buying into what his employers want.
