Michael Ball has dropped a huge claim over Real Madrid’s appointment of Carlo Ancelotti, revealing that they may have paid as much as €30m (£25m) to hire the Italian.
Ancelotti left the Toffees after only one full season following Zinedine Zidane’s departure from the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ancelotti was with the club between 2013 and 2015, winning the Champions League during his first stint with the Spanish giants.

Everton have yet to appoint his replacement, despite various bosses being linked with the club in recent weeks and months.
The latest to appear to be the frontrunner, Rafael Benitez, has fallen through, per reports, with the Toffees pulling the plug on the pursuit after an intense fan backlash and that has left them to return to the drawing board.
Ball has now claimed, though, that the Toffees will have received a huge windfall when he first made the move back to Spain.
Speaking exclusively to The Transfer Tavern, the former Toffees star Ball said: “So the rumours are Real Madrid paid between 20 and 30 million (£25m) euros for Carlo. So that was maybe a blessing in disguise if Everton use that money elsewhere.”
