Former Premier League man Keith Gillespie has told The Transfer Tavern that Harry Kane may have a slight edge over Erling Haaland in terms of being Manchester City’s top striker target this summer.
City have been linked with Haaland repeatedly over recent weeks, with the Norway international in sublime form for Borussia Dortmund.
He has scored 21 goals in 22 Bundesliga games this season and a deal for City could cost over £300m in total once the transfer fee and wages are factored in, per The Sun.

BBC Sport also reports that Haaland is a target, but they claim that Tottenham Hotspur striker Kane is also on the shortlist, with City set to lose Sergio Aguero this summer.
Kane has been in unbelievable form for Spurs this season, scoring 19 league goals in 28 outings and also providing 13 assists, and has 217 goals in 328 games in total for the north London outfit.
And while Gillespie says that the pair are hard to separate, he believes that Kane’s experience in the Premier League may give him a small edge.
Indeed, Kane has scored 162 goals in 238 league appearances.
Speaking to TT, Gillespie said: “I suppose, you look at Harry Kane, he’s played in the English league. It can be different for somebody coming from another league, trying to adjust to what the Premier League is all about. I’d say probably Haaland could do that but it’s an unknown.
“Probably he would do it but Harry Kane has been doing it for many years now and is a top, top striker. Haaland is a bit younger, I’m not saying Harry Kane’s old, but you’ve got that, so you’re talking about two of the best strikers in the world.”
