Marcus Bent thinks there is a chance of Everton persuading Brentford to sell Ivan Toney this summer.
Toney played a key role as the Bees won promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history via the Championship play-offs, with the frontman scoring 33 goals and contributing 10 assists in 52 appearances.
The 25-year-old, who only has 10 minutes of top flight football under his belt after making two substitute appearances while on the books of Newcastle United, proved to be a shrewd signing by Brentford as they paid Peterborough United an initial fee of £5million last August.

Toney’s impressive form has resulted in a host of Premier League clubs expressing an interest, including West Ham United and Chelsea.
But Brentford’s promotion to the top flight means they are less likely to sell their prolific goalscorer, with their hopes of avoiding an immediate return to the Championship largely resting on whether their frontman can do the business in the Premier League.
However, former Everton striker Bent believes Thomas Frank’s side may sanction a move if enough money is put on the table.
Speaking exclusively to The Transfer Tavern, he said: “Brentford want to keep Ivan Toney because they need to stay in the Premier League, but they might need the money too [if the offer is good enough].”
