Dean Windass thinks that Everton could easi;y get dragged into a relegation battle next season should they lose some of their best players.
The Toffees appeared top-four challengers for large parts of last season, but just three wins from their final 12 Premier League games saw them limp to a disappointing tenth-place finish and miss out on European football altogether.

Since then, Rafa Benitez has replaced Carlo Ancelotti, who returned to Real Madrid, in the Goodison Park dugout.
However, several of Benitez’s key players have been linked away from Everton, with Allan, James Rodriguez, and strike duo Richarlison and top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin all on Real Madrid’s radar.
Those four players were a key part of the team that were flying high in 2020-2021, and Windass reckons that some key exits could lead to a disaster for Benitez on his return to Merseyside.

Asked whether they could get sucked into a dog-fight should that happen, the former Premier League striker exclusively told The Transfer Tavern:
“I could see that without a shadow of a doubt.
“They’re very passionate supporters at Goodison and if they don’t start well, they’ll let him know about it.”
