The current pandemic is likely to drive down the price of some potential big transfers this summer, and one or two of Liverpool’s targets could well be affected.
Timo Werner is the one that springs to mind first, with the Reds being constantly linked with a move for the RB Leipzig centre-forward (SPORT via Sport Witness). The Anfield outfit are also said to have an eye on Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz, against whom they have already played twice this season in the Champions League.
Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport has provided an interesting update on the 24-year-old, as well. They say that the Partenopei have reduced his price tag from £70m to £52m.
This news has been shared by Twitter page Anfield Edition, and it has got the club’s supporters reacting in their droves – they appear to be delighted with the report. One even compared him to former Barcelona ace Andres Iniesta, whilst another suggested that £52m was a ‘steal‘ for him.
