West Ham United’s Declan Rice is seemingly one of the first names on the England teamsheet.
The defensive midfielder is only 21-years-old, but he has started every single UEFA Nations League match this season, whilst he missed just two of the Three Lions’ Euro 2020 qualifiers as well. His performances appear to be improving the more he plays too.

His showing in the 2-1 win against Belgium was proof of how important he has become to Gareth Southgate. Starting in the centre of midfield alongside Jordan Henderson, Rice shone. He completed 94% of his attempted passes, with him losing possession on just three occasions. Against the number one ranked team in the world, that is good going. If he remains in this type of form, he will only continue to add many more capt to the 10 he has picked up so far.

These West Ham fans, unsurprisingly, were absolutely delighted with their £44.55m-valued youngster’s display – as per Transfermarkt – and they took to Twitter to share their delight.
Let’s see what the fans had to say about Rice’s performance
The real Man of the Match. Mount was arguably the worst Man of the Match. 😂🤣

Often gets criticised but does the dirty work so others can flourish. Second half he was top notch & showed he is England’s 1st choice DM. https://t.co/KoXnSnBGaN
