Memphis Depay showed his support for Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk whilst playing for Lyon in Ligue 1 on Sunday night.
Van Dijk, of course, was forced off injured against Everton in the 2-2 draw at Goodison Park. He has since needed surgery, and he faces a long spell on the sidelines as a result. As the Netherlands international is one of, if not the best centre-back in the world, this is no doubt a blow to the Reds.

His compatriot Depay was in action for Lyon against Monaco in the French top flight at the weekend, with his side winning 4-1. The £40.5m-valued 26-year-old (Transfermarkt) opened the scoring, and whilst celebrating he showed a T-shirt underneath his Lyon jersey. On it was a message that read: “Virgil. Stay strong my brother.”

This of course attracted the attention of the Reds supporters, and it seems that they would like to sign him a result. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
