Fans will be outraged if these 2 Liverpool players are axed in January

Liverpool have made a flying start to the 2016/17 campaign, with Jurgen Klopp’s men currently sitting joint top of the Premier League.

The Reds supporters who can regularly be found here in the Transfer Tavern have been in high spirits during the current campaign, with many believing that they can go all the way this season.

Although Liverpool are currently playing some entertaining football their long-suffering supporters have been overly confident all too often in the past, so none of the contingent of fans are counting their chickens just yet.

German boss Klopp knows that his squad is not yet completed and will no doubt look to make some movements during the January transfer window.

With that in mind, Transfer Tavern regular Lee Clarke looks at two players who would cause outrage should the Liverpool boss opt to sell them during the forthcoming transfer window.

Daniel Sturridge

Although the England striker hasn’t been first choice regularly during the current campaign, there is still enough to suggest that Sturridge can yet play a bit part in Klopp’s Liverpool side.

The German boss is keen for his players to play a high pressing style, which doesn’t always suit the strengths of Sturridge and there has been plenty of talk regarding a departure of late.

One of the Liverpool supporting regulars here in the Tavern thinks Sturridge is one of the best finishers in the league on his day, stating that he hopes the striker isn’t sold in the summer.

Lucas Leiva

The Brazilian midfielder arrived at Liverpool in 2007 and has made over 220 appearances for the Reds.

Although the 29-year-old is no longer a first-team regular at the club, his value to the squad should not be underestimated and he could still have a part to play this season.

The Reds’ squad is young at present and his Premier League and international experience could prove vital for the club between now and the end of the season.

Our knowledgeable landlord believes that Liverpool would be mad to get rid of Lucas, stating that he is a calming influence within the team when called upon.

Liverpool fans, do you agree that these two should not be sold in January? Which players should be moved on by the management? Let us know in the comments below!!!
