Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are relieved to hear that their managerial problems may be coming to an end, with a shake-up likely to occur.
Jose Mourinho is staring down the barrel after five Premier League losses this season, whilst the penalty shoot-out loss to Stoke City in the League Cup didn’t help his situation. Now, the general consensus is that a defeat to Liverpool this weekend would spell the end of his time in West London.
With potential replacements that can fix things at Stamford Bridge looking wafer thing, The Daily Mirror provides a boost to Blues supporters by stating Carlo Ancelotti is open to returning to his former side.
Ancelotti led Chelsea to a double in 2009/10 but was controversially sacked a year later. Since then, he was an integral part of the Paris Saint-Germain revolution in Ligue 1 and led Real Madrid to a record tenth European Cup.
The experienced Italian has signalled that he would only take the Chelsea job if he was offered a permanent role and is not open to becoming a short-term fix.
Blues supporters at the bar are happy with this, stating they can’t think of a realistic appointment that would be better than their former boss.
