It’s fair to say that Bailly’s time at Old Trafford hasn’t gone to plan, and he’s been very disappointing over the last year or so, in particular.
However, he still has an important role to play, and so if he does leave, the Ivorian will have to be replaced.
There are dozens of players that the Red Devils could attempt to sign that could do a job in his place, and that could indeed be the best course of action for the club.
However, Ed Woodward and Jose Mourinho would be foolish not to consider the current crop of players already at Old Trafford, and one man that could certainly have an impact is Axel Tuanzebe.

Tuanzebe just turned 21, and so whilst he’s still a young player, he’s now at an age in which he needs stability, and so the pieces could be perfectly in place for him to return to his parent club and make an impact.
He’s currently away at Aston Villa, where he’s done well. He’s played a crucial role for the Villains, having earnt a regular role in the heart of their defence, and he’s looked good. They struggled earlier in the season, but their rise has coincided with his own return to form – and that’s no coincidence.
Very much a jack of all trades, Tuanzebe has a lot in his locker. He’s quick and mobile, whilst he’s also strong with the ball at his feet, not to mention he’s got a great physical presence. Whilst he doesn’t have years of experience behind him, he doesn’t play like that. On the pitch, he looks like a player several years his senior, and that bodes well for the Red Devils.
Versatility is also a valuable trait in his locker, given that he’s able to play across the defence. Given the lack of depth at Old Trafford, then, that could be something to consider.
It would be easier to spend big on a foreign talent; but why bother? Tuanzebe could be just the ticket.
Thoughts?
