It’s looking set to be an exciting summer transfer window for the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern. The signing of Virgil van Dijk in January certainly seemed to suggest that the Reds were keen to go to the next level, and with the impending arrival of Naby Keita – it’s clear that things are on the up.
However, our landlord is anticipating a few changes at the club this summer, with the playing personnel likely to see a bit of a revamp under Jurgen Klopp.
One player that is still on course to leave the club is Emre Can. The German has yet to sign a new deal, and with no suggestion that that’s set to change, Liverpool clearly need to prepare for a potential departure.
Certainly, the Napoli midfielder is a fantastic player, offering brilliant passing, dribbling and running – but we aren’t so sure he’s what Liverpool need.
Instead, we think they should target 1 of these 2 players this summer instead as they look to replace Emre Can…
Fabinho

Fabinho has looked set for the big-time for a few years now, and this summer, surely it’s time for him to make a big move.
Anfield could be a great home for him. He’s a fairly natural replacement for Can, albeit providing slightly more defensive quality, and his range of passing could prove to be very important for Jurgen Klopp.
He’s also versatile, which – given Liverpool’s injury history – could be key going forward.
The Brazilian won’t be cheap, but he’d certainly provide a lot of quality.
Jean Michael Seri

Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Seri, alongside Jorginho, but Klopp should certainly prioritise a move for the French midfielder.
Currently playing for Nice, he has looked impressive through the midfield in Ligue 1 this term, providing fantastic passing, dribbling and running for a team that has looked good in recent years.
He’s ready for a step up, and Anfield would be the perfect home.
