Forget Kane & Morata: 3 reasons this Man United man is the best

Much as been made of the current strikers in the Premiership at the moment but Man United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are only talking about their own frontman.

Indeed, the likes of Chelsea, the Red Devils and Tottenham all have marksmen to shout about leading their attacks this season.

Between them, the three frontmen have scored an abundance of goals already this season and firing for their clubs, Alvaro Morata’s injury has stopped his flow but our landlord says it looks like a shootout for the Golden Boot bragging rights between Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane.

Following a big money move from Everton in the summer, Lukaku is certainly living up to expectations and his own high price tag. He seems to be relishing the challenge of being the Red Devils’ lone striker and our punters think hooking up with former boss Mourinho has certainly paid dividends.

The Old Trafford faithful are certainly singing from the terraces for their Belgian goal machine and here three reasons why they consider him the best…

Premier League experience

Although Kane has played in the EPL for the past few seasons, Morata is making his debut season for Chelsea. Usually, most strikers don’t hit the ground running like the Spaniard has but the question will be next season if he can deliver on a regular basis.

Lukaku has consistently found the net for his past clubs and broke all types of records already and with the new United man being at Old Trafford it looks as if he’s levelling up.

Powerful

Lukaku is a beast of a forward and provides United with strength up front to hold the ball up for his teammates to join in the fun. What both Kane and Morata lack is that powerful frame, despite their excellence in other areas.

The sight of the Belgian running at you must put the fear of God into the Premier League defenders around the country and the powerful forward is something United have been missing for years

Poacher instincts

Many of Lukaku’s goals this season have come in the final minutes of the game when the opposition is tiring, his ability to be in and around the box for the rebounds and balls floating about the six-yard area has seen him bag many a goal this season already.

He’s positioning to sniff out any goal is again what United have been missing in a long-term striker since Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
