Everton supporters in the Transfer Tavern are delighted with the club’s summer arrivals, and news of further recruits continues to gather.

The Toffees have already finalised the transfers of five primary targets, including club-record signings Michael Keane and Jordan Pickford.

Ronald Koeman’s willingness to exercise his side’s financial resources has been apparent, and the spending looks primed to continue with the potential departure of Romelu Lukaku.

Everton’s Belgian forward, who scored 26 goals in all competitions last season, is reportedly a target for both Manchester United and Chelsea this summer.

Consequently, the Toffees have been identifying potential replacements for their prolific talisman.

Two names who have frequently appeared in the press this week has been Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud and Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney.

Both players are seemingly surplus to requirements at their respective clubs, and while they’re both very talented players the pair are ageing.

Edin Dzeko

Despite the fact that Dzeko is of a similar age to Giroud and Rooney, his recent goal-scoring record is far superior.

The Bosnian scored a staggering total of 43 goals for club and country last season, 39 of which came in an AS Roma shirt.

He also managed to register an impressive total of nine assists, and while his arrival would not be an adequate long-term replacement for Lukaku, it could be of great benefit in the immediate future for Koeman’s side.

Throughout the duration of his club career, Dzeko has proven to be quite the poacher.

His proficient finishing ability and commanding aerial presence have seen the striker thrive.

Additionally, he attains Premier League experience having scored 72 goals for Manchester City over the course of five seasons.

Andrej Kramaric

The Croatian international failed to make a significant impression during his time in England with Leicester City.

In contrasting fashion, the 26-year-old has set the Bundesliga alight with his superb goal-scoring antics.

In 51 appearances for Hoffenheim, the forward has scored a respectable total of 23 goals in 51 games, averaging a record of more than one goal every two games.

In total he scored 20 goals for club and country last season, 18 of which were scored for Hoffenheim.

In addition to scoring goals, he assisted eight last season, displaying his ability to prosper in one of the most respected leagues in football. At the age of 26, one could argue that he has yet reached his prime.

His arrival would significantly improve Koeman’s attack, especially while considering that Kramaric can operate in any attacking position.
