Forget Shaqiri: 65% of Liverpool would rather Klopp lands this talented attacker this summer

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t convinced by the prospect of their side landing Xherdan Shaqiri. The Reds are apparently keen on the Stoke City man as they look to improve their midfield options.

Stoke were, of course, recently relegated to the Premier League, and so you could forgive Liverpool fans for placing their expectations just a little bit higher.

We recently made the case that, instead of Shaqiri, Liverpool should be targeting Frenchman Anthony Martial, who currently plays for Man Utd. He hasn’t had much of a look-in over the last few months, and so perhaps he would be keen for a bit of fresh scenery.

That’s something, it appears, that Liverpool fans would love to see.

We recently polled fans on that very topic, and a 65% of fans have called for Klopp to target Martial instead of Shaqiri as a means of improving the attack this summer.

At 22-years-old, Martial’s best years are still ahead of him, and his record isn’t too bad in the Premier League already. He scored 9 goals last term, and you’d imagine that in a team with the likes of Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino, that number would only go up.

He wouldn’t be cheap, but it’s clear that Martial is popular amongst Liverpool fans.
