The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern want to see a lot more of Michy Batshuayi this season…
The Belgian forward made the move to Stamford Bridge over the summer, and whilst Diego Costa was always expected to be the man to lead the line – Batshuayi was at least expected to be given a chance when Costa wasn’t playing.
However, when Costa was suspended against Bournemouth a few weeks ago – Batshuayi was nowhere to be seen. Conte simply doesn’t seem to rate the Belgian – and so for many in the Transfer Tavern, the writing has been on the wall.
Conte has since come out and suggested that Batshuayi will get a chance, but our landlord thinks that that could just be a front from the Italian boss – and it would appear as though a French side are set to ask the question of Conte.
According to the Daily Mirror, Lille are ready to offer Batshuayi a loan move – with Chelsea clear in their stance that Batshuayi will not be allowed to leave permanently.
Our landlord is not expecting a deal to be made, however, with Batshuayi the only genuine option behind Diego Costa in the Chelsea attack. Whilst he didn’t deputise for the Spaniard against Bournemouth, our landlord thinks that his time will come – and Conte deserves a chance to back up his commitment to the Belgian.
The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern think that a goal from the substitutes bench would be a great place to start, and with the Blues facing Tottenham on Wednesday – it would only take 1 goal for Batshuayi to endear himself to the Chelsea faithful.
